Government Work
We construct public projects in sensitive, World Heritage and national park environments to preserve and protect their legacy for future generations to enjoy. We’re experts in infrastructure in remote locations requiring specialist logistics, and building relationships across diverse cultures. We have completed major projects in four of Queensland’s five World Heritage areas: Gondwana Rainforests of Australia; Great Barrier Reef; K’gari (Fraser Island); and the Wet Tropics.
Orchid Beach Wongari (Dingo) Deterrent Fence
We constructed the largest Wongari (Dingo) Deterrent Fence on the World Heritage K’gari (Fraser Island) for the National Parks.
This project involved specialist construction of over 5km of deterrent fencing, fabrication and installation of 7 vehicle and 6 pedestrian gates, building and laying of 1060m of timber pallet road, building sand roads and over 5km of fireline clearing. We also custom designed, personally fabricated and installed six vehicle grids (including gates). We worked closely with the Butchulla people, the custodians and traditional owners of the land and sea of K’gari, to complete this project.

Yanks Jetty Lookout
Orpheus Island National Park
In the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, we constructed the Yanks Jetty Lookout paying tribute to Orpheus Island National Park’s World War II history and connections.
Queen Mary Falls, Main Range National Park
ABB upgraded the well-loved Queen Mary Falls Circuit walk by constructing a new four flight hardwood timber and fibreglass reinforced plastic staircase, as well as custom fabricating and installing new galvanised handrails and installing 57 new preformed concrete steps. This project involved careful ecological management of the World Heritage environment of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia within the stunning surrounds of Main Range National Park.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre
Rebuilding the highly visited Daisy Hill Koala Centre boardwalk within the Daisy Hill Conservation Park. This project involved removing 90m of old boardwalk, rebuilding the boardwalk with new hardwood timber, upgrading the accessibility ramp, replacing all of the handrails and balustrading, and reconstructing the stairs to the amphitheatre.
